A Magical Place

Great location. A 25-minute walk to Gordes. Property is lovingly cared for. Flowers, landscaping, herb garden, olive trees, lavender (alas, not in bloom when we were there). Loved the layout of the house. It easily accommodates three couples and has lots of room for everyone to spread out and have private time when needed. Could have just relaxed there all day by the pool taking in the mountain and valley views, but took some day trips. Biked to Rousellin, Fontaine de Vaucluse, Abbaye de Sénanque, then Gordes. Car trips included Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Avignon. Definitely for serious cooks. We all went to the Coustellet Farmers Market on Sunday, and then the Gordes market on Tuesday and had some memorable meals out on the porch (wonderful sunsets). One of the most well-equipped kitchens in a rental that I have ever seen. (And a nicely-appointed grill area, although we ended up not using it.)

HIghly recommended.

Our first time in Provence was perfected by this lovely accommodation so much so that we were tempted to spend each day by the pool rather than head out to explore. As others have said, the photos do not convey what a special property Le Chemin des Reves truly is! The Collins have shared their home with you not a rental property. Every detail has been carefully considered and provided for from luxury towels and bedding to market baskets, and candles. If you cannot relax and enjoy yourself in this setting, then you won't be able to anywhere because that is what this property invites. We enjoyed our excursions to the Coustellet Saturday market, the Provence golf course, the Fontaine de Vaucluse and surrounding villages. Our favourite outing was a day trip rafting the spectacular Gorges du Verdon with dinner in Moustiers St Marie. Most nights we used the BBQ and ate on the porch enjoying the beautiful view of the Luberon Mountains. Although there are 'touristy' things to do in the area, one never feels they are in a tourist destination as it is not a commercial area. Both the owner and the property manager are prompt and pleasant to offer any assistance / information necessary. We had a most memorable week in Provence at Le Chemin des Reves.

Many thanks!

Everything we had hoped for ... and more

We had an absolutely wonderful week in Provence at Le Chemin des Rêves, and cannot speak highly enough of this home. As many have said before us, the beautiful photos don't even do justice to the house and property. Every detail has been considered, the views are spectacular and the location superb. We felt truly at home, and didn't even have the opportunity to enjoy much of the inside of the house as it was 35+ and sunny every day! We loved our trips to the local markets in the morning (particularly Coustellet on a Sunday - wonderful way to stock up for the week), we cycled and walked up to Gordes a few times and we toured a number of the sites mentioned in the well prepared notes in the house. Our favourite restaurants were Mas de Tourteron just down the hill (very special) and La Terrasse in nearby Goult (excellent in every way and not too expensive). We also enjoyed many glasses of rose, lunches and dinners on the terrace at Le Chemin de Reves - taking in the fantastic views. And croissants of course every morning! Our children (12 and 10) enjoyed the house and surrounding areas as much as we did, and we would all love to return one day if our travels (from Vancouver Canada) every take us back to France. Thank you Gary, Cathy and Beverley for helping us enjoy probably our best family holiday so far!
